It was a whirlwind visit this time to Australia, and I might say a long flight home.
ning Ridge and in rural Queensland. Very different world…saw lots of Roo’s in the wild.
This trip I spent most of my time in the Outback in Lightning Ridge and in rural Queensland.
Glad to be back on Cape Cod.

Lightning Ridge Black Opal and Diamond Yellow Gold Pendant
Any day I get to look at Australian Boulder Opals is a great day!
Took a drive on the clear and crisp day to the Mountains.
So much fun for me driving on the other side of the road….my little rental is slow….good for Mountain roads….
Got to tour a bit…more photos on my Facebook page, check it out.
Visited the Malney cheese Company. Always worth a visit.
Wonderful to be back in the Hinterlands visiting with friends that are Opal Miners and Cutters.
Amazing how much we have in common.
Winter here…cool and raining. A nice change from too hot on Cape Cod.
A few days to enjoy the area before heading to the Lighting Ridge Show…should be old home week for me.
Am thrilled to be back in Australia.
A long drive from Lighting Ridge,New South Wales to Dubbo, then fly to Sydney, then fly to Brisbane,Queensland then get the rental car…it was midnight when I get to the Hotel…Yikes.
Off to the Hinterlands to stay with friends that I adore.
I feel more Opals..coming into my life.
Drove 4 1/2 hours to Lighting Ridge. Between the unusual rain, Roo’s and rotten road, I was delighted to arrive in lighting Ridge.
A mining town, home of the real Black Opal it is as full of colorful characters as it is full of holes, dug looking for Opal.
Looking forward to entering my pieces in the Competition and returning for the Opal Festival….my first time to attend this huge Event.
I will keep you posted.
Need to bring some home with me!!!
Trying to adjust to the 14 hour time change and cool weather. It is really nice to be back here. The City is going through a lot of changes. My 13th trip in the last 21 years…a home away from home.
